Using curiosity in your email subject line is great for attracting your email subscribers.
It makes the reader open the email because they want to know more about what’s inside since the subject line is vague and intriguing.
But, it’s important to note that when using curiosity as a tactic, it shouldn’t trick your email subscriber. It should hook them while also remaining truthful to the content inside.
An example of curiosity being used in a subject line:

2. Make it Personalized
Another good idea is to make your email subject lines personalized when you can. This can help the reader feel like the email is just for them, so they are more likely to open it.
According to Campaign Monitor, emails that have personalized subject lines are 26% more likely to get open.
So, add the recipient’s first name or other personalizations to increase your open rates.
Depending on what email service provider you are using, there is either an option that automatically lets you input the email receiver’s name or you have to manually write in ‘[VAR_FIRST_NAME]’ to your subject line.

3. Create Urgency & Scarcity
Creating a sense of urgency and scarcity in your email subjects can help encourage email subscribers to open them. This is because people have a fear of missing out.
The fear of missing out is a powerful tactic that you can utilize in your email subject lines. It makes people feel like they have to open the email otherwise they are missing out on an opportunity and that they have to act on it now.
By writing subject lines such as “ Offer Expires Tonight – Only 9 Left” or “Limited Time Offer – Only For 3 More Hours,” your email subscribers will feel pressured and make an impulse discussion because of the urgency and scarcity of the subject lines.
4. Stand Out
As mentioned previously, 306 billion emails are sent per day, so it’s important to make your emails stand out in an inbox.
Otherwise, subscribers might not see them, and they won’t get opened. And a way that you can do that is by including brackets in your subject lines.

When writing your email subject lines, you want to keep them short. We try to keep our email subject lines no more than 6 words as a general rule.

It makes it so they can easily read the subject line without it getting cut off and so it is scannable for the reader.
6. Explicitly Tell Them What’s Inside
It can be a great idea to use subject lines that directly tell your email subscriber what is inside the email.
They are more likely to open the email because they have a clear understanding of the content that is inside, it’s something they are expecting, or know they want to read.
An example of this is “Your New Ebook Inside.” Usually, these types of subject lines can work better than the simple “Thank You” subject lines because you are telling them EXACTLY what to expect when they open the email.

The one thing NOT to do is to capitalize every letter. It’s most likely going straight to the spam folder if you do that, and you don’t want to appear to be screaming at your email subscribers.
